A knowledge of drop-infused wine
Olivier Madinier is the founder of Verny. He was soon joined by Augustin Le Barbier. Both raised outside the seraglio, but in admiration of the French winemaking tradition, their wine culture is not a heritage: it is a staggered path of encounters.
Olivier and Augustin met in the oenology club of the prestigious Paris Dauphine University. In this center of young promises, the great estates invited awaken the senses, the emulation of the tastings competitions sharpens the taste buds, the prizes won confirm that a vocation has been born.
Their knowledge of wine is infused drop by drop by those who work the vine and the wine. Their expertise is based on the links they have forged, on a tight network of privileged relationships with winemakers and cellar masters.

A passion for wine,
a passion for connection
Olivier decided to turn passion for wine into a profession. He joined his mentor at the Verger de la Madeleine, one of the oldest Parisian cellars specializing in rare wines, before succeeding him as director of the institution.
His love for wine and its craftsmen deepens in Olivier the desire to undertake to serve them, to make the links around great wines flourish. The idea of an innovative concept was born: a wine merchant “in a better way”, to become the first ultimate wine cellar. To receive wine enthusiasts in “salons” for tailor-made support and advice.
At Verny, you question yourself, refine your choice, taste and discover
The roadmap was established, and it convinced several partners to join the project, each bringing their expertise to the company. The links are already flourished.
A wine house run by men… and a patron saint
To carry out this project, a name rooted in the history of French wine was needed. By a beautiful coincidence, Olivier met, nestled in a stained-glass window of a church in Figeac, the former patron saint of winemakers, Saint Verny.
Verny will be the standard of their ship. Under the aegis of this protector of the artisans of the vine, they decided to carry far and high the excellence of the wine professions.
Very was born.
Olivier Madinier
From Touraine to the flowery hills of Grasse, Olivier is anchored in a vast geography. At its heart, the Capital of the Gaules has become his home. From the family heritage, he retains the passion for sliding, the audacity of the pioneers and a sharp nose.
On snowy slopes or the wings of the wind, on skis or in gliders, speed and wide-angle contemplation, this is how Olivier cultivates infinite freedom. Sensitive to smells, he cultivates his olfactory memory through his escapes. His nose is like a sniff. He is an ally in guessing the talents of tomorrow and the treasures of yesterday in the hollow of the glasses.
As for his audacity, it is entrepreneurial: listen and then decide with panache to aim high.
Augustin Le Barbier
For this Parisian, the Paris-Normandy axis is like a tutor. Regularly leaving a teeming social and cultural life to return to the silence of the land and the fields, the bright colours in the manner of Monet's gardens.
The inside and outside of the family home make up its landscape. Wood, nuts, rain and sawdust... These earthy smells populate his Normandy parentheses.
A generous householder, he loves the comfort that comes from a shared meal during which everyone tells their stories. Because Augustin's land revolves around sharing.
And he is happy that his profession now serves good and harmony.
